Time Flies
Time never asks for permission; it just keeps moving—through the good, the bad, and everything in between. Stop waiting for the perfect moment because it’s not coming.
The Relentless Passage of Time
As I get older, I'm reminded of the relentless passage of time. How quickly it moves and, before you know it, it's gone. Time never asks for permission; it just keeps going. We all feel it, whether it's how a day disappears in the blink of an eye, a week sneaks by, or months turn into years.
Think about it. One moment, you're knee-deep in work; the next, you're savoring a moment on vacation or tending to your garden. In every scenario, time slips through our fingers. It doesn't care if we're busy, bored, or happy—it flies.
It's not just the good times that move quickly. When I think back to the most challenging moments—losing a loved one, going through a breakup, navigating a career change—those days felt endless, like they would never end.
In the thick of it, you wonder how you'll ever get through. Yet somehow, you do. And before you know it, 10, 20, or 30 years have passed. What once seemed like an impossible moment is now a distant memory. Time flies.

The Future: Waiting or Moving?
Looking ahead, ask yourself: Am I standing still or moving forward?
You might find yourself imagining the future. Maybe it feels daunting like there's not enough time to do everything you want. Or you're picturing a brighter, better version of your life. You might even be wondering, "Will I have enough time?" But as you're busy thinking, planning, and dreaming, time isn't waiting for you to figure it all out. It's moving, with or without you.
The key lesson here? Don't wait for the perfect moment because it's not coming.
- You've been at a company for a long time and are afraid to move on and pursue your passions because you fear failure.
- You are waiting until "you know for sure" to commit to the love of your life.
- You've been too busy to visit your parents, family, or close friends, but promise yourself you will do it next year.
Life's finest days are ahead, but they won't come knocking. You have to meet them halfway. This could mean taking that first step towards your dream job, finally telling someone you love them, or calling your parents to set a date for a visit. Make the most of what you have now because today will be a memory one day, too.
Remember, time flies. So, don't wait for the perfect moment. Get on with it.
TL;DR Takeaways
• Even the Hard Times Pass: Difficult moments that seem endless eventually fade into the past. What once felt insurmountable becomes a distant memory.
• Stop Waiting—Act Now: The future is uncertain, and waiting for the “perfect moment” isn’t a strategy. Don’t let time pass you by—pursue what matters today.
