Reading List - Q1 2025

With the new year, I’m excited to dive into a fresh list of books. Reading has always been a big part of my growth, and this year’s starting lineup is no different. Let me share what’s on my list for the months ahead.

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius

Every year, I start with Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. I always go for the Gregory Hayes edition, thanks to a recommendation from Ryan Holiday at The Daily Stoic. This version hits home for me. I treat it like a personal journal—reading a bit each day and jotting down my thoughts. I can't recommend it enough if you haven’t read it yet.

Right Thing, Right Now by Ryan Holiday

Ryan Holiday’s Right Thing, Right Now is next up. It’s all about sticking to your values and making the right choices at the right time. This one feels especially relevant after some recent life changes. Huge thanks to my friend Amy R. for the signed copy—it’s much appreciated!

Slow Productivity  by Cal Newport

I’ll soon be diving into Slow Productivity by Cal Newport. I’ve been a fan of his podcast, so I’m looking forward to learning more about how to stay productive without hitting burnout. It’s a message I think we can all use these days.

Dopamine Nation by Anna Lembke

Dopamine Nation caught my eye after a sneak peek from the Shortform app. It’s about the balance we need in our fast-paced, often indulgent lives. I’m curious to see how the full book explores this topic and offers insights.

Introduction to Internal Family Systems by Richard Schwartz

Richard Schwartz’s Introduction to Internal Family Systems examines how different parts of us work together (or sometimes against each other). It’s a concept that’s been eye-opening for me, and I’m excited to dive deeper.

D-Day by Stephen Ambrose

Finally, I’m halfway through D-Day by Stephen Ambrose, which gives a detailed look at World War II. My dad served in the war, so it’s personal for me. I’m taking my time with this one, soaking in all the history and stories from that period.

I'll update my reading list here, so check back often.
